| Precious Metal Clay, for those
not in the know, is a relatively new material. Fine silver particles are
suspended in a secret organic binder which creates a pliable, claylike
material. It can be worked just like clay. Upon firing in the kiln,
the binder burns off leaving only the fine silver. Because it fires at
a lower temp. than glass, the glass can be fired right in place. I make the
glass pieces first, embellish the glass with the silver and then fire them
together. After firing, the metal is worked just like any other fine
silver and can be colored with patina, filed, polished etc...
