Recycled Glass

We've wanted to create some products using recycled glass for some time. Instead of using bottles we are using glass that is a by-product of our regular work. We have boxes and boxes of little bits of glass, mostly clear and black, that are too small to be used in our other work. Typically, glass artists would throw this glass away but I've been saving in in boxes for many years hoping for the day I found a use for it.... and now I have. Pieces may contain bits of dichroic glass as well because sometimes some of the tiny dichroic bits get mixed into the bin.

We are strong believers in recycling and re-use as many items as possible, packing materials, boxes and even paper is used several times. We believe recycling is good, not only for the environment, but for society; finding a second or third use for items is good for our souls and requires us to exercise our creativity. In addition, using recycled glass will allow us to offer some new products at a very reasonable price.

Moon Goddess This is the first finished piece in this new series. A sweet, serene face made with recycled art glass. She can be used as a paperweight or as an art piece. Put her in a little stand or on a shelf or table. Set her in your garden or use her as an art tile. You are limited only by your imagination. 4" tall x 2 1/2" wide $22.00	Recycled Hearts Formed at 1500 degrees and slow cooled for durability this heart symbolizes both the strength and heat of a love that's true. 3" tall x 3 1/2" wide $22.00	Pyramid more to come soon	Celtic Magnets Fired from recycled, colored glass. This one is a deep burgundy red. We never know what color glass we will have on hand in the recycle bin so we will choose the color for you. Colors can range between various reds, blues, greens, brown, black and pastel colors as well. If you have a strong preference just put a note in the notes field and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Large ceramic magnet insures these will NOT slide down the fridge. 1 1/2" Round $10.00
			NOTE These Celtic glass pieces can also be made into drawer pulls for an additional fee. Ask me if interested.
NOTE: Each piece has been fired once or twice then ground and hand polished to perfect the shape and then fired again to add shine and strength.
